Half Day Programs 

Our Half Day Preschool Programs are offered Monday - Friday, 8am - 1pm, for 3-6 year olds. Central to Montessori is the mixed-age classroom. Please inquire should you be unfamiliar with this beautiful learning concept. Please email us for special schedule requests at info@villagemontessori.com.

We are not a typical preschool half-day program. Our aim is to prepare your child well for kindergarten through a nurturing, orderly environment. Our goal is to develop your child into a confident, independent learner and for all children to learn the five critical reading skills by age five. Our curriculum is unique and proprietary. It is based on Montessori's whole child approach and solid reading skills development focusing on phonemic awareness and deep alphabet knowledge. Our reading program is aligned with the science of reading (SOR) instruction taught at CMS and FMSD.

Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language Arts and Culture and Science materials are arranged in areas, which children explore through daily journal time, circle time, the Montessori work cycle, explicit SOR instruction, and Global Enrichment.

An additional focus is placed on kindergarten readiness for rising kindergartners in the areas of literacy and math.

Children will take part in a healthy morning snack, lunch with their classmates, and outdoor playtime (weather permitting). Potty-training is required in these classrooms.
